Introduction

The AIP is committed to the principle that thorough grounding in psychoanalytic thinking and practice is the optimal basis for making effective interventions across a full spectrum of mental health treatment modalities. The AIP strives to give a well-rounded knowledge of psychoanalytic theories. The integrative curriculum of the AIP programs includes the fundamental psychoanalytic principles of Freud and other classical thinkers, as well as Horney’s culturalist and characterological contributions, object relational, self psychological, relational, contemporary conflict theory and other contemporary approaches. The AIP faculty believes that in psychoanalysis there are still unknown areas, therefore, all students of the AIP are encouraged to develop their own points of view, based on their full participation in the comprehensive training.
