The AIP is an independent psychoanalytic Institute, a fully accredited educational institution by the State of New York, certifying mental health professionals in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

Located in a beautiful townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the Institute was founded by Karen Horney in 1941, and it is the second oldest psychoanalytic institute in the greater New York area.

TRAIN AT THE AIP AND EARN HOURS TOWARD LCSW AT THE KAREN HORNEY CLINIC
The American Institute for Psychoanalysis is associated with the Karen Horney Clinic, an Article 31 Office of Mental Health licensed facility. Social workers training at the AIP have the opportunity to work at the Karen Horney Clinic and count their hours towards LCSW licensure in accordance with New York State Law.
